Re-vamping Raw

Re-vamping raw, not re-Vampiring Raw, ah ah ah ah!

a

OK back in the game it seems. Funny thing is, my body last night was saying “Um, excuse me, I just figured out how to handle spelt bread and tofu, and you are eating whaaat?!” It said this after a big plate of fresh veggies and some delectable cashew nut cheeze. Seriously, it sat on my stomach for hours. I only had half the amount that I usually did in the past because, well I was stuffed!
I credit the fullness in my stomach to my enzymes being active for cooked. Back in the day, I could blaze through veggies like you wouldn’t believe! Funny thing is, it’s relatively painless switching back to living foods.

I have been asked by a few in the raw community, “Hey did you stop going raw?” See my previous post. I am glad that I got to experience to a small degree, cooked vegan. I always have tried to throw in a raw this or that through the last 4 months or so.
Biggest lesson learned from my break from raw? Good luck losing weight on cooked vegan. There are just too many delicious foods out there…its really ridiculous! However…I really did learn a lot. Turns out I was way more sensitive to say, toast, pasta, anything with wheat in it, than I realized, and perhaps it was part of what was stopping me from feeling great in the past? And there are a bunch of small lessons like that I’ve picked up. Like how inflammatory plain cane sugar is, etc. Oh I could go on and on!

So…to recount day one of PHASE 2, today I had organic granola with chocolate hemp milk..made me sick, so I said, enough is enough and for lunch I had the rest of the cashew dip and veggies, a super delish mango, and for dinner I had a green kale smoothie. Tonight I juiced a cantaloupe post workout! I am so loving this!

  • Love The Count!
    Haha!

Glad to hear you are doing well and back on raw! I usually go back to more cooked foods when I am not feeling well, or in the Winter, but this coming Winter I think I am going to stay more raw. I notice the same feeling comes over me! And I am def. intolerant to wheat and gluten! Good luck! I hope your little boy is doing well! Send Heidi my regards!

  • Welcome back to raw deliciousness. I never last more than one meal on cooked food, because I feel the bad effects of it right away. I'm eating 'easy raw' right now – green smoothies, salad w/ tahini dressing, avocados, and chocolate. It's much easier for me to eat this way than to bother cooking.

Good luck getting back in the game. I am looking forward to more of your amazing, inspiring videos.
P.S. Did you ever put out that weight loss video (of your progress on the raw food diet?)

  • Thanks Lauren! You reminded me of what a guru said did…Kulvinkas? I know I'm spelling that wrong…he said that at a retreat he did once in the Winter, all of his clients were freezing so they warmed up everything, fresh juices, wheatgrass shots, everything and soon everyone was doing fine. I think there is a element in foods that Western dieticians ignore, that being heat and cold. I think heat and cold are their own sort of energies and our bodies respond to them much like they do minerals or enzymes. Thanks for the well wishes! Hope you are well too!

  • Good points Gloria. I like the idea of mono meals too, hope that menu works well for you!

  • Thanks Tara! I will be posting some videos soon! I will put out that weight loss video, but its going to be a while. I instinctively knew it wasn't time last year because I had some more learning to do, but in the future? Heck ya!
    Take care!

  • I never doubted that you were here all along…just resting a bit along your journey. ;-)

It's wonderful that you learned so much as you were eating nonraw foods. I think it would be helpful if you listed everything you learned…it will help you in the future to remember what cooked foods actually do to a clean body, and the list can help others who aren't aware of all that can really happen when nonraw foods are consumed after eating a raw diet.

That mango looks totally awesome, but not as hot and sexy as that dracula! ;-)

    Lots of love to you,

    Wendi
    XOXOXO
